Register now for the Climate Change and Health: Implications for Clinical Practice symposium sponsored by the Department of Internal Medicine, the Department of Hospital Medicine, the Ohio State University College of Nursing and Ohio Clinicians for Climate Action. Featured keynote speakers include: Dr. Jay Lemery and Dr. Aparna Bole, acclaimed experts on the effects of climate change on human health. Dr. Lemery is an associate professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and is chief of the Section of Wilderness and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Bole is the medical director of Community Integration at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and an associate professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Join us and hear from other healthcare and advocacy professionals regarding their experiences treating patients, conducting research and advocating for legislative and collegiate curriculum change during the current climate crisis. 

The Climate Change and Health: Implications for Clinical Practice symposium will educate and inspire healthcare professionals and students to take actionable steps to help reduce the health harming impacts of climate change by providing tools to develop implementable solutions on an individual, department or organization-wide level as well as showcase opportunities for advocacy to foster positive change at all legislative levels.

There are a few ways to join us for the conference. On Oct. 22, you can attend the conference in-person at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center or join virtually. Information for virtual attendance will be emailed to registrants on Oct. 19.  All presentations and workshops will be recorded and published. Details on how to view enduring materials content will be made available after the conference.
