Sustainability-Related Academic Programs at Ohio State
Ohio State offers dozens of sustainability related academic programs across multiple colleges and disciplines, including majors, minors and certificates. There are programs to match virtually all undergraduate student interests.
Sustainable Energy Accelerator:
Each semester the Sustainability Institute hosts a week-long Sustainable Energy Accelerator where interdisciplinary teams of students from at any academic level and disciplinary background work to solve a sustainable energy challenge facing an industry partner. Students can register as an individual or with a pre-established, interdisciplinary team. Each member of the top team earns $500 in BuckID money.

Ohio State's Foundations of Sustainability Pedagogy Teaching Endorsement:
This program is open to individuals on any campus who wish to enhance students’ engagement and learning about sustainability using a multi-disciplinary lens. It is structured around a community of practice (CoP) with a cohort of approximately 20 participants. The CoP takes place each spring semester with recruitment during the previous autumn semester. This opportunity will help participants create instructional objectives and integrate them into their courses and align course learning outcomes with activities designed to integrate sustainability pedagogy strategies.

SUSTAINS Living Learning Community
The Students Understanding Sustainability and Taking Action to Improve Nature and Society (SUSTAINS) Living-Learning Community is a residential learning program for students of any major to explore sustainability topics and discover how sustainability can apply to their personal lives and future careers.
Through discussion, service and hands-on learning, students who are members of this community will learn about best practices for sustainable living and learn to address sustainability challenges in their community.
