April 15, 2024

The Sustainability Institute (SI) at Ohio State University seeks to foster collaboration across academic units, operations, and university partners to advance sustainability in the university community and beyond. Key to this effort is the involvement of student voices and perspectives. To better facilitate collaboration with students, the Sustainability Institute at Ohio State is looking to establish a student advisory board starting the Fall 2024 semester.

The SI Student Advisory Board will consist of 10-15 students from various interest areas, academic programs, and degree levels. Board members will serve a term of one academic year in the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. The board will have three meetings a semester, for a total of six meetings during the academic year.

During these meetings, board members will provide feedback on current and upcoming university sustainability initiatives, as well as share student insights to sustainability efforts and priorities at the university. Outcomes from these meetings will include the board's feedback being incorporated into the initiatives, as well as guidance from the board on identifying opportunities for the Sustainability Institute and their partners to increase student involvement in these initiatives.

Student Advisory Board members should be motivated and involved students who are dedicated to advancing sustainability in the university community and beyond. Students from any academic program, degree level, or Ohio State University campus may apply.

While not required, board members will be invited and encouraged to engage with Sustainability Institute and partner initiatives throughout the academic year as well.

To apply to the 2024-2025 student advisory board, please complete this application by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd, 2024. Selected applicants will be notified in June of 2024.
