Decades from now the year 2020 will be remembered for several reasons, but none more poignant than the pandemic. The gravity of the situation in terms of a threat to food security really hit home as we saw empty supermarket shelves and heard stories of massive quantities of farm products, including livestock, needing to be destroyed. A research team from the Discovery Theme InFACT, Initiative for Food and AgriCultural Transformation, recently reflected on lessons learned about U.S. food supply chains since the start of COVID disruptions.
