The Sustainability Institute (SI) is excited to announce Josh Knights as the Institute’s new Managing Director! Since 2018, Josh had served as SI’s Director of Partnerships. In this new capacity, Josh will partner with Elena Irwin, SI Faculty Director, to provide overall vision, leadership and strategic planning for the Institute. This will include program development, partnership building and staff management.
Josh brings a wealth of experience to the Managing Director role, including seven years with SI as the Director of Partnerships. During his time with SI, Josh has forged strategic partnerships between Ohio State researchers and practitioners and external collaborators, including SI’s Foundational Members. These efforts have advanced Ohio State’s sustainability research and teaching mission as well as aided campus sustainability efforts.
Prior to joining Ohio State in 2018, Josh held leadership positions at The Nature Conservancy, including executive director of its Ohio program and director of its Corporate Partnerships team. Previously, Josh worked on international trade policy in Washington, D.C., at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the law firm of White & Case.
