RISE summer program now accepting applicants

January 12, 2023

The Research In Sustainable Energy (RISE) summer program application is open now through March 24. Through this 10-week immersive process, undergraduate and graduate students at Ohio State develop independent research projects concerning the field of sustainable energy. Each participant will have access to an individual peer mentor and faculty advisor to guide them through the process.

The program runs from May 22 – July 28, 2023, and not only cultivates valuable research skills and techniques, but expands research networks and connects a range of exciting fields to promote interdisciplinary collaboration. To round out the experience, students can present their findings at a campus-wide symposium to share their results with the broader community and improve upon public speaking skills.

Since students must spend 40 hours per week on the program, enrollment in other summer courses is prohibited. Time will be compensated by a $5000 stipend for all participating students and up to $500 in travel reimbursement for graduate students.

The live application link can be found below. All applicants must include a personal statement and research statement, and current Ohio State students must also include a resume or CV, Ohio State transcript, and two letters of recommendation from an individual that can speak to professional or academic performance.
