New Course Addresses Sustainable Energy Future

How can we build a sustainable energy future? A new course explores our current energy system and the path beyond fossil fuels

Yue Qin, geography and Sustainability Institute Core Faculty member, will instruct a new course, Geography of Sustainable Energy, in spring semester to explore our current energy system and the path beyond fossil fuels. GEOG 5194 is open to all majors and ranks and will examine geospatial patterns, real-world applications, emerging technologies and energy policies.

Qin’s research focuses on air quality, carbon and water synergies and tradeoffs of energy transition pathways; the feedback of the natural environment on human society; and the food-energy-water nexus.
