The Sustainability Institute at Ohio State and the Center for Energy Research, Training, and Innovation (CERTAIN) announce the request for proposals for the FY2020 Ohio State Sustainability Research Seed Grant Program to build capacity in sustainability and resilience research at Ohio State by supporting new interdisciplinary research teams that lay a foundation for convergence research.

Two tracks are available:

Track 1: Interdisciplinary Research Teams in Sustainability or Resilience: Supports teams of scholars from two or more distinct disciplines and relating to one or more of the Sustainability Institute research program areas. Preference will be given to teams that support junior or early career faculty and have potential for external funding. The Sustainability Institute anticipates awarding three to five seed grants ranging from $15,000 to $25,000 each.

Track 2: Interdisciplinary Research Teams in Sustainable Energy: Supports innovative research in energy resources, environments-energy interactions and transition science. Preference will be given to proposals that include a strong science or technology component and have a strong likelihood of external funding. These seed grants are co-funded by CERTAIN and the Sustainability Institute, which anticipate awarding three to five grants of $25,000 to $50,000 each.

Pre-proposals are due Feb. 3. The deadline for invited full proposals has been extended to March 30.
