OHIO STATE WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER HOSTS SUSTAINABILITY FILMS, DISCUSSIONS.

The Human Effect:

This film is about the eminent need for everyone on this planet to awaken to the immediate need to better respect and honor and take better care of our Earth Mother so that she can continue nurturing and taking care of us. A number of American Indians and tribal elders, from various tribes, make comments in this film in reference to our immediate need to get back to respecting and living.

The Ohio State University Medical Center’s departments of Community Development, Leadership Academy, Green Team, and Diversity Council have collaborated to develop Matinees that Matter, a purposeful lunch-and-learn program with video and discussion. Matinees that Matter provides a larger learning experience to The Ohio State University community by recognizing the importance of ethnic, racial, and economic disparities of health care in the United States. The program will highlight films set in different ethnic or racial communities, providing a deeper exploration of the ways in which social conditions affect population health.
