EPN Virtual Event -Talking Trash: A Primer on Central Ohio's Waste Stream

Date

Ever wonder about the types and amounts of materials we throw away in central Ohio? Interested in learning about what can be done to keep these materials out of the landfill? Through this program you will glean insights and industry knowledge from Kyle O'Keefe, director of innovation and programs, Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio, about the conditions, trends, opportunities, and activities taking place in the central Ohio region and how you can get involved.

Improving the way we manage our resources is more important now than ever. Our consumption of products and packaging and the waste they create have a profound impact on the sustainability of our environment and our economy. These issues have become prominent in the age of COVID-19 and climate change. Together, we can create solutions by strengthening and building a vibrant and resilient circular economy for current and future generations.

This EPN Virtual Program will begin at 10:00 a.m. and conclude by 11:00 a.m. Opportunities for audience Q&A with O’Keefe will be available throughout the program. Jeff Sharp, PhD, director, School of Environment and Natural Resources, Sustainability Institute affiliated faculty, will provide welcome remarks.
