Sustainability Institute Opens 2025 Student Sustainability Grant Program

The Ohio State University is dedicated to advancing education, research, innovation and partnerships related to sustainability. To further these goals, the Sustainability Institute is pleased to offer funding to support student research or projects in sustainability.

Priority will be given to student research or projects that directly impact university operations; incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion themes; and/or connect to our communities and create opportunities to use our campuses as living laboratories.

Award Amount

The maximum award per application is $5,000, and the total funding available is $40,000 for the spring semester 2025 grant offering. Since the Sustainability Institute launched in 2019, it has awarded over $240,000 to over 60 student research and campus-as-lab projects through this grant program.

Eligibility

This award is open to all degree-seeking full-time undergraduate, graduate and professional students from any academic discipline or unit, in good academic standing, and with a graduation date of spring semester 2026 or after.

Proposal Requirements

Grant proposal requirements include a proposal, timeline, and detailed budget.  One letter of support from an Ohio State faculty or staff member is also required as a part of the application process.

Online Application

Apply online by Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:59 pm. Awards will be announced no later than Friday, April 25, 2025.
